By the use of small electrodes that are painlessly applied to the skin's surface, important information is obtained concerning the ability of the musculature to tense and relax. Tense and weakened areas are shown and are compared with reference data. The measurements help choose the suitable treatment. Therapeutic measures can be specifically adjusted and controlled in the course of treatment. Muscular disbalances, tensions, myogelosis and contraction weaknesses and functional deficits are treated and are analysed and documentated during the therapy.
Fields of application:- shoulder/neck tensions - headaches
- intervertebral disc problems - back pains
- muscular changes after operations(e.g.cruciate knee ligament, hip)
- tonus disorders of the musculature (tennis elbow)
The measuring encompasses:
- The tonus measurement at rest: The relaxation ability of the muscles are tested in a neutral position and is compared with reference data.
- The isometric contraction: During maximal tension against resistance the muscle weaknesses are determined using the right-left comparison and quantified.
- The functional test: a standardised preset movement is analysed and shows the muscle economy of tension and relaxation.
